Oh my gosh, I LOVE this place! Everything is so fresh and good, this is my new favorite go to place. I've tried, Salads (caesar wasn't my favorite, didn't like their dressing) the Candied Walnut was great, and Chicken entree's, Sea Bass, Korean Stir Fry, Rice Pudding (amazing), fresh fruit, Steak Salad, Enchilada's (Vegetarian and Chicken) and everything is priced very well for the quality! I also like that every item is labeled GF for glutton free, makes ordering easy if you have dietary restrictions. It's nice to have a place you can get quality healthy food when you don't have time to cook!

The Market Cobb is my favorite thing here. The salads are very filling. The Albacore sandwich is also very good. I really like their pasta sides, they are very flavorful. Service is very quick and friendly.

Can't say enough good things about this place! Quick, delicious, healthy food! Love seeing what the daily specials are and trying new things here! My favorite is the tandoori chicken salad and the corn, red bell pepper soup. Both are decadent!

Great service even when their very busy, great food... Love the lunch special! Great place to pick up a sandwich to go

I tried the albacore tuna and the mixed medley veggies! So yummy and fresh! Can't wait to come back and try all the other sandwiches and fresh choices!

Food? Delicious. Get the quiche it's lovely. Service is spacey. Like maybe that quiche you ordered won't show up for a solid 18 minutes. Also, it's spendy. Yes, the ingredients are nice quality, but skimpy. Turkey cranberry sandwich is nearly 8 bucks, has one slice of turkey and no sides. Overall, good quality food, but the execution sort of falls apart.

Came across this corner cafe when vacationing. It is a gem! Everything our group ordered was fresh and delicious. You definitely get what you pay for. Many healthy choices, organic, and fabulous! We will definitely come back here next time we are in SD!!!

Although I've eaten here 8 or 9 times by now I have yet to try anything beyond the tuna sandwich. But who would want to? House roasted tuna. House made focaccia bread. House made olive tapenade and lemon aioli. I'm drooling just thinking about it. That sandwich alone deserved 5 stars. Although I've been told the rest of the menu is something special too, I'm afraid I'll never manage to travel beyond the tuna sandwich into unfamiliar waters. (Pun intended)

I can't say enough good things about this place. Since I work just across the street, I make a habit of having lunch there several times per week. The food is fresh, sustainably farmed, and healthy. They have a selection of cold sandwiches, hot paninis, satisfying soups, crisp salads, and mouthwatering desserts available on their standard menu. Additionally, they have entrees and side dishes that change depending on the day of the week. The customer service is fantastic. The staff always greet me by name and are incredibly friendly. On a couple of occasions when they have been overwhelmingly busy, they've thrown in a free cookie or baked good to thank me for my patience. Some of my favorite menu items include: the pesto turkey sandwich, pecan and goat cheese salad, butternut squash panini, and albacore tuna sandwich. Definitely my favorite place for a quick and healthy lunch in this area.

I have never used them for catering, but their restaurant/deli is horrible. The kitchen is about three times bigger (at least) than the seating area, so be prepared to eat standing up since there isn't enough room. The food is the same pre packaged salads and quickly made paninis you can get anywhere, except they charge twice as much for theirs to give off the appearance of being upscale. They gave me a gift card because they messed up my order (which was really nice, I'll have to admit), but I wont be using it.

Waters catered our wedding in Sept 2010 and while the food was incredible, their administrative services were HORRIBLE. I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes at the sales office, but I can't even begin to explain how poorly they handle the business side of things. Countless unreturned phone calls and emails, quotes with incorrect info, quotes with double charges (check your catering, bar and rental quote for the same items listed multiple times) and a general lack of customer service skills. While working with them, we were passed to three different sales reps, the last two not knowing what was going on. On a positive note, the bar and wait staff were incredibly professional and did a great job. The food was ridiculously good and we got compliments from everyone at the wedding.

Every day they have something new and wonderful. There are some things that are always there, unless they get sold out. Like the delicious artisan pizzas that melt in your mouth. And they usually have brownies and cookies and sandwiches. I remember the first time I tried the Valrhona brownie: heavenly. For the amazing, delicious, savory and fresh food you get it's worth the extra dollars. And they always have good pasta salads.

There is little to no food and this area. Waters is a charming gem. Parking can be a pain but circle a few times and you will find a spot. I usually get lunch to eat there but the food to go is amazing. The dishes they have out are always innovative and beautiful. You will try something new each time. The cream of asparagus soup, didn't sound great, turns out I love it. Check their website for the daily menu. If you are in the neighborhood check out this hidden gem.

I have been a fan of Waters for sometime. For take out to go food this is the best that I know of in San Diego. Healthy stuff that tastes great, it is pricey when you start buying entrees, sides, salad, etc. but you can get a decent meal if you go the soup and sandwich route. There service is great. The staff they hire really have good manners and understand what service means. I remember a couple of occasions where the service was not the best or somewhat awkward, but the individuals involved were new and not there for long. So I concluded that the standards are very high for service. And that the management have there finger on pulse of their staff and the service that is given. Some items that won't force you to make a hostile take over of the local bank, but are good: 1) Roast Beef Sandwich 2) Ham Sandwich 3) Tuna (olive tapenade can be a bit too salty for some) 4) Sweet Potato Mash 5) Pot du Creme 6) Chocolate Mousse 7) Chocolate Cupcakes **** small but wow! 8) Phantom Cookies 9) Roasted Veges 10) Soups 11) Eclairs 12) Mac n Cheese 13) Chicken Pot Pie (Big and serves 2 generously) Now don't get me wrong, the rest of their offerings are really good too. I have never bought an entree that was not good. If you want to put together a really romantic picnic lunch or dinner and you don't cook, this is the place to go and with a little help from the staff you can really wow your intended. But it will cost you. I would like to see them upgrade the roll they use for their sandwiches. Its like you have a cadillac sandwich (insides) on Kmart tires (bread). Also, I never warmed up to the Acini de Pepe which is offered almost every day, it is too dry for me, but i think that is the way it is suppose to be. Things I would like to try but have had a chance to yet: Pineapple upside down cake Sweet potato salad Brown rice with cilantro There weekly menu can be found at: waterscatering.com/menu.… If you are thinking about dinner, best to call ahead and ask that the items be set aside because it is not uncommon for them run out of a lot of stuff by 1:00 PM.

Had the line caught albacore foccacia sandwich and for dessert double chocolate cookie. Both were great. Lots of people stopped by for to go orders or to eat in at their small shop. Everything was flavorful and delicious. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. I'll be back again!

Their new Bay Park location is very cute. The gals working there are nice! The food is amazing. The only issue is there is not enough parking in the small lot that they share with the rest of the strip mall :(

I've read some good reviews about this place. Don't go there 2 hours before they close. Food was TERRIBLE. Philly Cheese Steak = TERRIBLE, like it had been sitting for three or four hours. Pre-cooked vegetables for a sandwich at a "gourmet" shop is not exactly gourmet. Meat, (two slices..... roll eyes) was extremely raw and blood-soaked through the bread before I got home and I live five minutes away in Bay Park. Chicken w/ rice soup sucked. Not REAL chicken and rice, chicken and rice is made with chicken stock, not cream of whatever. More like cream of mushroom with a little bit of chicken. Sorry but it wasn't your day today. VERY Annoying and unsatisfied considering this was to be dinner for the family. I had to go back out and get another dinner because nobody wanted to eat it. You know how it is business owners (especially owners of food businesses), it only takes a little bit for the word to spread about your poor service and food. In San Diego, once word gets out, POOF, your doors will be shutting before long if you don't change your ways.

One of my favorite places to grab lunch to go! I love this charming little place! The cafe has a very laid-back vibe, and the menu is full of organic vegetarian comfort slash carnivore food at its finest. I love their red quinoa salad with edamame and cranberries..refreshing and delicious! I got so inspired that I made my own version of it! I also love their butternut squash soup. Everything I have tried here has been delicious and they use seasonal produce, wild seafood and farm raised meats. It's really nice that their menu has vegan, vegetarian, and carnivore food. They have something for everyone to enjoy! All of the sandwiches are amazing, quality ingredients and great flavor combinations! There are also numerous tempting delights fresh from their bakery. I absolutely love their granny smith apple rice pudding for dessert! Their catering is beyond ammazing, my friend used them for her birthday brunch party, everything was delicious and gorgeous. Sooooo happy they opened a second location close to me! I love you guys at waters, you always inspire me with your creativity!

This place is ssssoooooo good! Its really a "to go" store, but there are tables where you can sit and eat. Every ingredient used is of high quality and organic. It is a little bit of the pricier side though. I love their pesto pasta, roasted veggies, artisan pizza, broccolini, caesar dressing is to die for, and did i mention their pecan bars are the F'in sh*t!!!!! oh yeah and their chicken salad and tuna salad sandwiches are the booooomb! I havent tried anything that I didnt like. The location of Morena Blvd is kind of small, but the new solana beach location is pretty spacious.

This place caters but also makes their food available to go. You can eat there if you want, but this place is tiny. And I mean tiny, meaning two tables that seat four and then a side counter for a couple more people. Parking is virtually non-existent, I recommend calling in your order ahead of time and going with someone so that while you pick up the order, your friend can wait in the car by the curb. What I love about this place is how they have a daily menu that constantly changes. My favorite thing to get is the Acini de Pepe (it's small pasta that looks like Couscous but tastes nothing like it). This place is pretty "foo foo". My boss was the one who recommended it when we asked him what did he want to eat for his birthday. Good quality stuff though, from their sandwiches, to their salads. Oh and get a lemon bar while you're there, simply delicious!

This is a catering business with take-out. I actually found out about this place from a patient of mine- it is not a place that one would drive by and decide to stop and shop. It's a little "hole in the wall" kinda place in the Midway/Tecolote Canyon area- most businesses are furniture stores, tile stores, Carpeteria etc.... But, like I said, they also have a storefront with a deli case that serves entress, soups, salads, sides, and desserts. They do a modest lunch business with a few tables for eating in (I take out). They also make sandwhices- their lean and rare roast beef is AWESOME (it's a regular menu item) as is their Ruben (which isn't sold everyday). You can add yourself to their e-mail list and they will e-mail you their daily offerings ,so if you want to pick something up for dinner, you know what they have before trekking down there. Street parking. Prices are a little hefty, but this stuff is gourmet. If you aren't a cook and need to entertain, this is the place to go to impress someone!

Visited Waters after hearing they carried gluten free bread. I loved almost everything about the place. The gluten free bread was delicious and it was a nice size sandwich. I thought things were a bit pricey. They charge an extra $1.50 for gluten free bread. Yikes!

We love this place! A little gem in Solana Beach, Waters is where you go if you want fresh, organic and gourmet food preparation. Customer service is excellent , even when its busy. Prices are very reasonable and the quality is exceptional.

Excellent sandwiches and soups! Fresh, local produce. Best to take items to go, but they have a few tables. Everything I've tried is great and the service is good.

One improvement - they now seem to have a list of ingredients for each dish and no longer have to call the kitchen to find out what ingredients are for those with food sensitivities or allergies. I'm grateful for this improvement.

my favorite place for lunch - despite the lack of parking and places to sit inside. to go is best. candied pecan salad is fantastic, also the beet soup and mushroom barley soup. great food & worth the $$

I really love this place. If it were 10% cheaper, it would get 5 stars easy. My favorite sandwich is the roast beef (those crispy onions!) and my favorite side is the acini. Sometimes I venture out but not usually. I've had a lot of their catering, so I know other things are fantastic, so I feel a little better about getting the same thing every time.

What a hidden treasure! This place has organic, gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options. If that doesn't excite you than the food will! I must say its a bit every time I go! Best coffee that is freshly grounded and brewed to order. Overall I love this place!

  • Emily P.

What a sophisticated eatery - too sophisticated. I felt like a peasant among self-proclaimed royalty. Upon walking in I was impressed with the quaint décor, but I was only given about 30 seconds between walking in and being demanded to order. I am sorry, I do not frequent this relatively expensive sandwich shop. Now for my second apology - I do not like to judge people, but the girl taking my order was very snobby and I felt as if she was looking down on me, and not simply because I am short. After ordering a sandwich I asked for coffee, but they were out! "We've run out of beans. There's cold brew in the fridge". If I wanted to purchase a $5 cold brew I would have gone elsewhere, a simple coffee would have sufficed. I had to leave decaffeinated and disappointed. I actually came to Waters over J&T because I thought there would be coffee. While waiting for our to-go orders we had to ask for water cups, which greatly inconvenienced the cashier - ironic considering the name of the restaurant. Anyways, I ordered the House-Roasted Turkey Pesto Sandwich as was suggested by the girl not much older than me but still overly condescending. Oh, Jarlsberg cheese, sounds so exotic and exciting! False - it is basically indistinguishable from Swiss cheese. The sandwich was nothing special and very overpriced considering its mediocrity. My main problem with this place is how their hide under the façade of sophistication while looking down upon the common folk like my friends and me - that is how we felt anyways. Usually businesses policies are "the customer is always right", either that or they at least respect the customer, but sometimes youth in conjunction with lack of funds demands belittling from the sellers of "fine foods".

Great place! Stopped in today for the first time, and I can already see myself being a regular. They had a great variety of foods: quiches, chicken meatballs, chicken piccata, braised beef, sweet potato puree, sandwiches, salads...the list goes on. It was really hard for me to decide on what I wanted- I wanted to try it all! I ended up ordering two pieces of salmon, cauliflower and celery root puree, and a kale and pomegranate salad. Everything was SO good! I can't wait to go back and try more of their food

Waters is a fantastic place for a quick lunch or dinner, offering many choices and types of meals such as soups, sandwiches, side dishes, salads, meat dishes, and desserts. Everything is made fresh daily, and I have never gotten something here that I did not enjoy. Waters has a consistent menu on the wall where sandwiches and salads that are available every day are written down, but I also really like the surprise element that Waters offers as you never know what the display case will have in it each day to try. My absolute favorite thing to get at Waters is and always has been a slice of the Spinach Feta Quiche. It is without a doubt the best quiche I have ever had in my life, and the slices are always very generous. I also frequently get the kale salad (there are usually a few types of this in the display case, and each one is excellent). The soup changes each day, but I have enjoyed the Veggie Chili and Tomato Bisque. Additionally, there is usually a healthy chicken or fish dish. Waters also always features fresh grilled vegetables in the display case along with other sides such as mashed potatoes or mac & cheese, which vary every day. While I do not have a huge sweet tooth, there are usually a hefty supply of desserts in the display case as well, with dishes like Chocolate Mousse or Lemon Bars. With the consistent menu on the wall, I have gotten the Chicken Salad Sandwich many times. The chicken salad is so creamy and delicious, and the bread is always fresh! The only issue that is a bummer is that around dinnertime, Waters runs out of many of their items in the display case, so I would definitely recommend coming earlier in the day if you are picking up something for dinner. Waters has a nice selection of wine (both red and white) as well as crackers and casual snacks available for purchase. They also have a fridge offering beers, teas, and drinks for children. At checkout, there are other small sweets that you can buy such as cupcakes, or my personal favorite, the chocolate chip or cowgirl cookies. Honestly, I could probably eat at Waters every single day and die happy. There is such a great variety of healthy, fresh cuisine to try and everything always tastes excellent. The employees are very helpful and sweet, too, which makes for a pleasant experience all-around!

Lunch was on the menu when I visited this small eatery, looking for a fine sandwich, I stumbled upon the all white meat Albacore pole caught tuna salad sandwich, I ordered it, but instead of the focaccia, I had them make it on multi-grain bread. For dessert, I tried a couple of cookies: the chocolate chip and oatmeal currant. The multi-grain bread was of very good quality with hidden nuts and whole grains hidden here and there, not to mention the great flavor it had ( yelp.com/biz_photos/wate… ). I was pleasantly surprised with the nice amount of albacore tuna the sandwich came with: tuna that tasted terrific mixed with the lemon aioli and olive tapenade spread ( yelp.com/biz_photos/wate… ). By the way, the albacore was had a very mild pleasant flavor. It may of came out of a can, but it was of very good quality and humanely caught ( yelp.com/biz_photos/wate… ). Both cookies I enjoyed for dessert were great. The chocolate chips was the most moist and sweet ( yelp.com/biz_photos/wate… ). Misleading from the outside, the cookie had a a lot more chocolate chips than I would of presumed by looking at it from the outside ( yelp.com/biz_photos/wate… ). The chips had that melt in your mouth quality and tasted great. The oatmeal currant cookies was good. The oatmeal was mild in flavor, but the cookie was a little dry ( yelp.com/biz_photos/wate… ). This cookie had an abundant amount tasty little currants throughout the cookie ( yelp.com/biz_photos/wate… ). The girls behind the counter were hip and had a good system going. It did take a little long for the food to come out of the kitchen, but with nice service and a great Albacore Tuna sandwich it's easy to forgive. Well done...

I've eaten here numerous times and the food is UUUH-MAZING! My favorite is the chicken club sandwich (bacon, tomato, red leaf lettuce, lemon aioli on toasted baguette. It's $8.50 or $9.18 after tax which is a little expensive for such a small sandwich, but you're paying for good quality food. Their freshly-made gourmet soups and salads are delicious too. They use fresh produce and locally raised meats and free range poultry. If I rated this based on the food alone, I would give them 5 stars! The service, however, was not so good and the ladies working behind the counter were not very friendly. -1point They had a sign that said free cookie if you mention us on social media. I mentioned to the lady that I'll "check in" on yelp and even showed it to her on my phone and mentioned I'll write them a review. She saw me checking in but said sorry, they ran out. If you ran out, why don't you take your sign down???!! If you still have it up, at least offer me another one of your bakery items! I didn't want your cookie anyways...I wanted it for my husband actually who has a huge sweet tooth. He was sitting down at one of the tables holding our baby while I was ordering, and when I told him he didn't get his cookie, he was surprised too that they didn't offer me something else. By the way, he was holding our baby the whole time because they don't have a high chair. -1point for not being kid friendly.

Excellent little place to grab lunch! The place is very inviting and has an excellent menu with great options for healthy food. Definitely will be coming by on my lunch breaks! Shout out to Shannon! She knows what's going on and is very helpful with selecting the perfect lunch.

Came here solo and enjoyed the hipster vibe in this small cafe and open windows for people watching. It was an easy choice as from the outside it appeared to be the cutest and cleanest restaurant within the little plaza. I also fancied the word" fine". I ordered the Turkey Panini and thought it was tasty, but a little crunchier than I'd like. It was jammed pack with great herbalicious flavor. It was my first time trying jarlsberg cheese, which comes on a lot of their sandwiches by the way. I thought it complemented the fresh pesto very well. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but you're getting gourmet and organic items. I paid about $12 + tip for a sandwich and bottle of honestea, yea. Customer service was okay. They have one large table for a group. If you're coming with a group, I'm crossing my fingers for ya. This may sound weird, but they had really soft napkins that felt like cotton. I liked them, I liked them a lot.

The salads, wraps and sandwiches are great and the butternut squash panini is really good although it doesn't sound good. You've got to try the brownies at the register too. It is a little pricey but worth it. The reason for only 4 stars is that sometimes they have to reheat things and at lunchtime you can wait longer than usual for your food. Also, I've driven around for 10 minutes looking for parking and eventually just went home. I go here about twice a month and have never had a bad meal.

How did I not know this place existed till today? I work about a mile from here and am always on the lookout for new lunch spots. I was scouring Yelp today and found Waters! I had a veggie panini and side of roasted vegetables. The veggies were so good! Very similar to Tender Greens but better! Overall, I'd say the prices, quality and concept are quite comparable to Tender Greens. The food is fresh and not processed. My panini was tasty but quite small for $7.50. It was like the size of a normal piece of white bread with the crusts cut off with a thin layer of cheese and veggies inside. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable, but this place is far from a well-oiled machine. They only had one girl at the register, but really needed two people b/c it took like seriously five minutes to pay after you order. There's a decent amount of room for improvements to streamline the process. The best part about Tender Greens is when you approach the register, your food is ready when you pay. At Waters, we waited forever to pay and then still waited for food. Wouldn't have minded waiting for the food if we could have paid and gotten out of people's way. The line is in a tight area. I am always happy to find a new spot to add into the lunch rotation. I'll def be back!

Have purchased take out food seven times. Excellent. Our favorite is the roast beef sandwich - ask for extra horseradish sauce. Bread is wonderful - roast beef is rare. tuna salad and chicken salad are both exceptional. And of course.. don't forget to get at least one brownie. Want to try the quiche. I had the Asian Chicken salad recently - not up to being labeled "Waters Fine Foods". No-taste chicken and seven (OK - I counted them) peanuts! Sandwich ingredients are fresh and flavorful. Staff at the Morena location are friendly and attentive. Definitely will continue to frequent this local gem.

*Long overdue review* Probably the healthiest, best tasting catering display I've had the pleasure to experience. Waters catered a Cancer Survivor's celebration at UCSD, and the food was both health-promoting and delicious. I felt like the chicken skewers should have been on a heated tray, but they were still tasty, along with most other items including: - Organic chicken sliders w/ pesto and lemon aioli - Assorted organic veggies with dill-tangerine crème fraîche for dipping...so excited they had fennel! - Caprese skewers (cherry tomato, basil, mozzarella) The dessert was also great---brownies and blueberry streudel--and the richness lended itself to satisfaction from a few small bites.

They really need to expand! There are three locations (the other two are in Gaslamp, Solana Beach)...and the food is always consistently fantastic...which is a given considering they were a catering company first and this cafe was an extension of that. The tuna sandwich on a soft and herb-y foccacia roll is probably the best variation of this sandwich I've had...it doesn't reek of pachooli or overly saturated in lardy blotches of mayo like most other places do it, has the right amount of lemon to give it that special kick. Another solid choice is the ham and cheese sandwich. I'm not a typical lover of the basic ham & cheese sandwich (sooooo basic), but Waters' take on this is really something else. Take my word. Seriously. Lots of pre-made "grab and go" salads are available...and they have everything from salmon filets and to gemelli pesto pasta salads that you can take with you (priced by the pound). Their desert selection is also really great too if you have a knack for closing out your meal by treating your sweet tooth to a macaroon or one of their many varieties of cookies. There's always a huge lunch rush and since the cafe sits in probably the world's tiniest business park, there is always a shortage of parking...with people fighting over spaces. Opt to park out on the street somewhere near instead and just walk over.

I have enjoyed working near enough to Waters for the past several years to stop by for lunch on occasion. Their food is exquisite! Today I'm having soup and a half eggplant and mozzarella panini. Can't wait to eat! They also have unusual and delicious drinks, like Q ginger ale. Try Waters, I think you'll love it, too!

Waters has amazing food. I've been here more than 10 times over the last two years. I am really thankful to work close by and be able to come here often. I actually don't think Ive had anything I have not liked here, which is great since they offer a wide variety of options. They can be a little more on the expensive end, for sandwiches and salads, but they use really high quality ingredients that are fresh and delicious. My favorite sandwich is the shaved veggie. Favorite salad is the strawberry kale (when they have it in the case) or the baja crunch. Favorite panini is the California. All that being said, I've never tried anything here i haven't liked. My own negative is that sometimes the service can be slow- its not the fastest option but it is healthy (or can be, their cookies are always tempting right by the register) and delicious. Parking can also be a challenge around lunch time.

The Good: I LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. The food is amazing. I eat here for my lunch break at least once a week. The food NEVER disappoints. The Bad: I have been here 3 times this week for lunch and the customer service this week was remarkably different in the past. Service usually is fast (especially since this place is packed at lunch - just a warning) and it was fast this time, but the customer service I received was less than friendly. I ordered the roast beef sandwich which is usually delicious, but the sandwich was off this week and when I peaked where sandwiches are made it looked disorganized as well as the displays. I asked to speak to a manager to which the employee replied saracastically "There is no manager here" (this employee was dark haired ethnic, but not sure and I did not get her name). No Manager on duty during a lunch rush? I certainly hope this gets better, the service and food are excellent usually but this week has not been their best. I normally don't yelp but since I tried to give feedback and was met with "There's no manager here" and was unable to give someone with authority my complaints, I decided to yelp here.

oh...one of the best discoveries of the year! And it is near the USD campus so it's an easy lunch stop if I'm on campus. Best lemon crumble bar, in my opinion. I've already gone back to have it again. The food is good with a lot of variety. The soups are made fresh and changed up every day. I love the community table inside where you can eat with other people you may or may not know before you walk in the door. The service was great...they were patient with me as a newbie to explain the menu and how to order...had some great recommendations for what to try...and were quick to serve and keep the line moving. Not a lot of seating...and it can sometimes be crowded...lucky for us we live in San Diego where the weather is almost always good enough to sit outside at one of the tables. I haven't tried everything on their menu, but I'm slowly chipping away at it...some recommendations? The grilled eggplant sandwich or the chicken club. Love any of their soups...both the chicken curry and butternut squash soups were #delish! And you know I'm going to tell you to get the lemon bar. :) Enjoy!

Walking in during the lunch hour, I was nervous due to the large line. The servers seemed stressed and understaffed. A girl helped me quicker than I thought, but she wasn't very knowledge of the menu or sandwich selection, she then called another server over, a cute redheaded girl who then took over and was very helpful with suggestions and samples and questions I had! She rung me up quickly and informed me about the free cookie if I mention them on social media. I did and she handed me a free cookie and also suckered me into buying another dessert (phantom bar?) which was amazing! I can see myself being a regular here. The smoked turkey panini which she recommended and the dessert were both lovely! Hopefully the rest of the staff becomes as familiar with the menu and as helpful! It's hard to find good device like that these days.

Great place. Gourmet, fresh, great ingredients, creative menu. Decor: I love the layout of this place, sort of farm to table with the brick, marble counter, and green hue around the place. Food: Very good, a little messy but thats our fault for ordering an egg salad sandwich, the bread was a little dry and probably would have been better toasted but again that's our fault. You can definetly tell that a majority of their ingredients are local/organic and that almost everything is made from scratch. Service: We went in and it wasn't busy but besides the point a cute man with a mustache helped us and was very patient with my "Are the eggs organic?" question and my indecisiveness between the eggplant sandwich and portobello, neither of which we went with. If you like healthy, local, and don't mind paying an average of 10-12 for a meal (without beverage) than this is the place for you. I don't mind paying anything for good food and am pleased with my money spent. If I was hungry at work again I would most likely go back. My co-workers absolutely love this place, they think its the bee's knees eating there 3-4 times a week. Excited to explore this menu further and hopefully turn this 4 star to a 5 star. Def better than most of what I've had in the area.

For the area I would rate 3.5. There are not a lot of options like this that I have found around. I had a panini and while it was good, it was pretty spendy at $7.50 with no side or drink. I also had to wait awhile for it which shows that it is made fresh but was bad because I also had to wait for my meal while BCBP could tuck in straight away. The food all looked fresh and the bites I tried of other dishes were pretty good. I just found that they are pretty spendy for what they offer and that there are better options a short drive away. If you are in the area and really want something fresh go for it! Also they get plus stars for having a couple fun beer choices!

This place is like walking into your moms kitchen, opening the refrigerator and grabbing something that was home cooked to warm up! The food is consistently good and the place is always clean. Be patient because the service can be slow but so worth the wait.

Haven't tried for catering yet for which they may be better suited. Decent gourmet sandwiches for the area but ultimately lackluster for price/ wait.

This place is SO GOOD. The food is phenomenal, and you can't really go wrong with your choices -- everything is sumptuous and delightful. My only qualm is with the prices; of course, nicer digs and nicer ingredients necessitate higher prices to compensate, but I feel there should be more of a middle ground in said pricing. This place caters to a specific crowd due to the price range, and because everything is so dank, I always leave having just paid an arm and a leg for a smallish sandwich and one or maybe two sides. Total bummer in that regard, but delicious nonetheless.

Discovered this place with some friends looking for a good sandwich near USD. I didn't even realize it was there until we pulled into the parking lot. It was definitely a very nice surprise. I had the roast beef sandwich, and it was really fantastic. The break was nice and lightly toasted, the meat was sliced at a good thickness, and the veggies and condiments all tasted great and worked well together. One of the better sandwiches I've had in the Linda Vista area. The people I was there with also enjoyed their food. The grilled egg plant sandwich, which they shared with everyone else, was really great. We shared a lemon bar, and that was pretty good as well. The staff are very helpful, and the variety of selections were really good. Lots of varieties of tea, soda, bottled water, and other treats. All in all I would definitely recommend this place and will be going back. One note: seating is pretty tight and so is parking.

I ordered a "caprese" sandwich here and it was one of the saddest sandwiches I have had in my life, thus compelling me to write this review. For about $8, I received a cheese and pesto "smear" on bread with 2 pieces of the ends of a tomato (the pieces that are usually discarded). When I brought it to the attention of the staff they were obnoxious and acted like I should have ordered "extra" toppings if I wanted a full slice of tomato. To top it off, it took forever to get our food even though the place was not busy. Nothing worse than feeling ripped off after a meal. I will not eat here again.

Very slow and lady was rude. She took other peoples orders before mine that where behind me in line....The sandwich I got was good though! Come with time and patience.

I kept seeing this place on West Morena, but never went until today when I noticed they moved into where Subway used to be next to JV's on (non-West) Morena. That has to be one of the world's worst parking lots...so that is a bummer. Subway couldn't even stay in business there...but this place is more of a catering company, so they can probably take less foot traffic. I ordered the tuna sandwich...and I never, ever, EVER order tuna because it usually sucks and tastes like overly-mayo'd poop. Not the case here. This sandwich was amazing and came with an olive tapenade spread and on fresh foccacia. VERY good. It did have a fish bone in it, which is good and bad. Bad because I could have died. Good because that means it really is fresh fish. But a chance of dying is not super fun. Speaking of dying, I almost ordered the turkey pesto and asked multiple times if the pesto had pine nuts in it. The first person said no multiple times...good thing I asked for a third time because someone else came over and said that it DID have nuts in it. That would have been fun to puke all over their new digs! Overall, though, they were VERY nice...and I can look past the nut snafu. I didn't realize it, but I actually went in about twenty minutes before they opened, and they served me anyway. I thought that was neighborly. I found this even more enjoyable when a person came in about ten minutes after me and they told her they couldn't serve her yet. Ha! TAKE THAT! I, of course, ordered a chocolate chip cookie to complete my order. They had a walnut and non-walnut version in separate containers....so they clearly understand the plight of nut-allergy people (even if they don't all know what is in the pesto.) Wasn't a fan. It was crispy...and I *think* it's a Crisco version or something like that. I like my cookies nut free and soft...just like me! I'll definitely go back...first time I would say was about 3.75 stars...but I can easily see this being a 4.5-star, high-end sandwich shop when they are all settled in and if I came in when they were actually open. The sandwich was AWESOME...parking sucks...and I can't give any place five stars when their CCCs aren't up to MY clearly expert standards.

The people that work here are all so friendly and nice and sometimes they even remember my name which is pretty cool. The food is always great with a good selection of fresh , healthy items and you can see it all in the case so you know what you are getting. It's my go to place for some quick healthy food. Def park on the street bc if you drive anything bigger than a mini, this small parking lot can be ridiculous.

Roasted root vegetables are crunchy and delicious. The brownies so moist and scrumptious. Salmon Pappardelle is so simple, fresh and flavorful.

We always drive by but have never stopped in! I got the Cobb salad and my husband got the albacore sandwich. Seriously, the best albacore sandwich we have both eaten. The fish was cooked perfectly, the bread was fresh and the aoli they use on it was spot on! My salad was made with all fresh ingredients and HUGE! We will be back!!!

I just went here with a few friends today and talk about a hidden gem. My friend couldn't explain what type of food it was, just that it was delicious and she's been obsessed. Now I see why! This place is amazing! The food is delicious!

Went to Waters today for lunch because it's right around the corner from my office and I only had a short break so I was going to get a 1/2 a sandwich to-go and get right back to the office. It was a little past 2 PM and there was only one person in front of me who didn't yet order so I was excited thinking this was going to be quick. The girls behind the counter were friendly, took my order right away and then the women in front me and I waited 20 minutes for our sandwiches (and I only ordered a 1/2 veg sandwich). We ended up chatting with each other on how ridiculous it was getting. By the time I got my sandwich I asked why it took so long and the girl told me that they were slammed today. I looked around me and there was only 3 other people sitting there and she then told me that the panini machines don't work well later on in the day. You charge enough for your sandwiches you should be able to afford a panini press that can keep up with demand. The food is good, but not good enough to spend half my lunch break waiting for their panini press to work.

All the food at Waters is delicious but the sizes are ridiculous. I just purchased the smallest $8 sandwich that I have ever seen. And while it tastes good, I need another one to fill me up and I would NEVER spend $16 on salami and cheese.

I was very disappointed and felt ripped off. This was my first time in Water's and I tried it because I heard so many great things about it. My wife and I decided to give it a try since we live in the neighborhood. We saw there was a chicken club on the menu and we asked if we could get turkey instead of chicken. The attendant was very eager to comply with our requested. We paid our bill of $22.00+. we got two sodas, and we each got a baguette approximately 6 inches in length. According to the menu, it was to be toasted which it was not. There was no bacon it as advertised on the menu. We were offered the choice of thinly sliced deli turkey or the thicker real turkey. We chose the latter. I would have hated to see how thin the deli turkey would have been because this was thin enough to see through. The cheese and tomato were the same. The filling of every thing between the pieces of baguette was slightly over 1/4 inch. We do not expect to return I can only give this high rating of two star because it did not taste too bad.

The reason I could not give it a 5 star is because for "to go" food it is $$ But possibly the best chicken salad I have ever had!! It has artichokes & tarragon in it and for some reason that seems like the perfect combination of YUM!! Try it for a picnic or a run by on the way home!

Score BIG time for the Bad Cook! Tips: Have a dinner party and pass this food off as your own, you're friends will love it and your Mother-In-Law will faint. Menu is seasonal and changes often Take-away is best Not good for groups- too small to sit and enjoy Everything is Hand Made yum Items sell out, call in your order Sign up to get their menu emailed daily Many Foods sold by weight Food can be heated and plated for you Food I've had and loved: Carrot Ginger Soup Acini de Pepé Mac and Cheese Vegetarian Panini with Goat Cheese Jacima Pepita and Jack Cheese Salad with nuts Fresh Fruit Salad Chocolate Mouse Lemon Bars Butternut Squash Soup Oatmeal Cookies Handcrafted Granola Banana Bread Beef Stew Potato Gratin Turkey Meatloaf Chicken Parm Bacon and Jarlsberg Cheese Quiche Sea Bass Broccoli and White Cheddar Mash Potato BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich Goat Cheese and Arugula Mash Potato Loch Duart Honey Glazed Salmon Always hoping to sample something new and different... My only wish is that they gave you a hot buttery roll with their soup instead of a hard no likey crostini. Yum, parking is on a one way street off of Buenos Avenue there's usually a spot in front or you can park by the BBQ place next door. Food is fresh and a delight... This place pees all over Nordstroms Cafe and Some deserts are so rich and sinful I get fat just looking at them. Either way I could eat here every day. Yum Yum and Yum. BONUS FACTS: I heart their second location in Solana Beach Both locations have bathrooms but they are inaccessible and you have to walk through the kitchen to obtain access. boo. Ask for a taste and they'll give you one. yum.

This place is right around the corner from my office. Lunch is always tasty, service is pretty quick - even though they are making sandwiches to order. I've had a lot of what's on the sandwich menu, and have yet to be disappointed. Not the cheapest place, but always fresh and good.

I agree with Erin O. 'So food... good. But service?? Spoils every single meal.' I love Waters food and have been a regular at the Solana Beach outpost for years. Now that I work downtown & moved south, I'm left with the Morena spot for my Waters fix. I think they are getting better since the remodel.

I love this place. I cannot say this enough! I've been coming here for years now, and make this a spot I take all my out of town guests for lunch. They just moved locations, so it's so nice to eat in their new seating area. Beautiful! Also great to grab food to go for picnics. Love the tuna salad sammy. Yummers! Giving 4 stars because I feel by the time I get there all the veggie salads are gone. Make more waters!! Overall a good joint.

i love going here to pick up something to eat for a picnic in the park or the on the beach. The cous cous salad is delicious. I've also tried the Chicken Roulade which was stuffed with goat cheese, sundried tomatoes and maybe some pesto sauce in there. It was extremely good. The staff is friendly and nice. Its definitely a to go place since seating is limited...but definitely a great place to pick ups some food before a picnic.

This place is super close to where I work. I can just walk there and get some exercise and know that I will soon be eating something very good for me. They moved their location from West Morena over to Morena Blvd. Still not too far for me. Their new place has more room and is very nice and new. I gave 4 stars because it is a bit pricey and the service is a bit slow at times, even if they aren't busy. A couple of times, the girls didn't tell me my sandwich was ready and I was just sitting there for over 10 minutes. However, you are paying for organic food and the quality is very good. I love their Grilled Portobello mushroom sandwich and vegetable medley are my personal favorites.

After hearing rave reviews about this place, I had to try it. So I did and I have to say that I wasn't that impressed. The service was not at all friendly. Honestly the two girls behind the counter could have cared less that I walked in the door. They looked unhappy in general. Maybe they were hung over!? I ordered a panini with hig hopes. Honestly, I can make a better panini myself. Lacked flavor and texture. Bread seemed subpar. I will try it again because of all of these reviews, but I will not be in a hurry.

I almost gave this one star - this place drives me crazy. The food is fine - they have gluten free offerings sometimes. I really enjoyed their gluten free bread... it was kind of a foccacia. The problem?? The service. SOOOOOO BAD. And nobody who works there is on the same page. One person told me they had gluten free bread everyday, one person told me Tuesdays only, one person told me Wednesdays only. And every time I try to call to get a current answer, it always goes to voicemail, which I have definitely left messages on and never gotten any kind of answer. They have also gotten my order wrong before, and then blamed me (!) for not ordering correctly. Uh, no. I'm super specific. Believe me - as a celiac and a somewhat picky eater, my orders take a long time and I'm a pain in the butt. And even so, you should NEVER blame the customer... have these people ever worked in customer service before?? So food... good. But service?? Spoils every single meal.

I love this place. The food is so good, reasonably priced. I mean I have never been let down, the taste is sooo fresh, everything is amazing. For about $10 you get a great sandwich and a good choice of desserts. The place is relatively small, but I have never really had a long wait. Hands down the best place in San Diego for fine foods. Issues: The hours, I wish it was open later in the day. I would love to come here at around 8ish and get some food for dinner. Also they have a lot of items to order, but it hard to know what they have. I wish they had a better menu system to know exactly what the specials were and stuff, they have an on-line menu, but sometimes the menu at the location doesn't have all the items that are available that day. Another big problem, not Waters fault, are the type of people that come here. I mean no disrespect to their customers, but sometimes you get stuck behind some people that ask everything under the sun about the food items. I kind of understand that they want to know how it is prepared and stuff, but when you have three people waiting to order, can you please not ask 100 questions...I am sorry but this isn't top chef, if you knew how to cook this good, you wouldn't be going to waters, so please lets not pretend that you are a chef and know what they are talking about when they describe how it is prepared. Everything tastes great and is amazing, but you get the mistaken belief that everything is healthy, which I am sure it is, but like I looked up a slice of mango tart on-line and it is like 450 calories, so it would be nice to have the nutritional information, but kind of unreasonable because of the various items and small operation. But other than that, this is the best place to get food in SD. Cheap, fresh and natural.

Consistently tasty "bistro" type food (sandwiches, salads, etc.) and to-go type take aways (individual sized meatloaf, gourmet mashed potatoes, etc.). You can eat in their tiny dining area but they have really uncomfortable metal chairs. The prices are a little high for this type of to-go place and parking is not ideal...also, it can be confusing to maneuver your way here since it's off the main drag of one of the two Morenas. Despite all this, I'll go back once in awhile because it's good food!

Definitely a worthwhile spot to stop by if you're in the mood for a more refined lunch on the go. It's quick, fresh, and clean. The enchiladas are great, as is the tuna salad sandwich.

I had been wanting to try this for a while after hearing good reports. It is a small place with a few tables for people who want to eat there, although most of the people seemed to be getting food to go. They have a display case with a number of sides and more substantial items (such as salmon fillets) that seem more suited for dinners. The staff was very friendly and more than willing to let you taste anything. We tried a few items, including the soup, which was a mushroom barley that was quite good. I think that the soup, as well as a number of the other offerings change daily. My FI didn't take my advice and got the eggplant sandwich which was good, but had too much aioli on it. My turkey panini with gruyere cheese and roasted peppers was one of the better paninis that I have had in a while. The peanut bar that I got kept getting better with every bite. I started to give this place a 4 but compared to other lunch places of similar price ($7-8), it is definitely a step above.
